Schools

What We Offer
MusicShare offers its services to primary, secondary and special schools and pupil referral units across Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent and Telford & Wrekin as well as the wider Lichfield Diocese.
If you are a school outside of the Lichfield Diocese we would be happy to discuss the cost and content of setting up and delivering a project with you.

A Lasting Legacy
We are starting to build upon our offer and looking at how we can create longer working patterns with schools. If you are interested in your school become a MusicShare partner school in this way, then please do get in touch: Email us to register your interest.

One-off Workshops
We are happy to lead workshops with whole schools, individual classes, or school choirs and can tailor these to suit. We are specialists in classical church music but are happy to lead in all styles and genres. Past workshops have included: an exploration of the music of The Taizé Community for a school’s spirituality day; and teaching pupils to sing Evensong.

Workshops Leading to an In-school Performance
We can deliver tailored project work engaging secondary schools alongside their feeder primaries. Pupils from all participating schools are taught the same repertoire separately over a number of weeks, before coming together for a final rehearsal and shared performance with the MusicShare animateurs and live professional band. Repertoire is a mixture of styles and genres, which cover the core aims of the music curriculum in relation to singing.
For schools within the Lichfield Diocese there are no costs other than covering pupils’ travel to and from the final performance. For schools outside our diocese please email us for more information on our rates.

Workshops Leading to a Lichfield Cathedral Performance
One of our core roles over the years has been to work with a number of our schools, bringing our choristers and young singing leaders with us to help teach repertoire that will then be performed as part of a concert in the Cathedral. On the concert day, schools rehearse together for the first time, attend Choral Evensong (a service sung by the Cathedral Choir) and perform in the Cathedral to their parents and families.
For schools within the Lichfield Diocese there are no costs other than covering pupils’ travel to and from the final performance. For schools outside our diocese please email us for more information on our rates.

Partnership Projects
Over the years we have delivered some hugely exciting educational projects with organisations such as The Sixteen, English Touring Opera and Lichfield Festival. This has afforded us some hugely exciting performance opportunities of large-scale works, with professionals at the top of their fields.
These opportunities come up regularly throughout the year. If you are interested in getting involved in a future partnership project please register your interest by emailing us.

Supporting Teachers
We are confident in leading teacher training on many topics relating to singing such as:
- How to lead from the front
- Choosing repertoire appropriately
- Vocal health
- Improving the quality of singing in your school
We also have a huge wealth of teaching videos and resources as part of our project, some of which are freely available to all and others free to those within The Music Partnership area (Staffordshire, Telford & Wrekin & Stoke-on-Trent).
